Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information BacktestDB processes when you use the site and the choices available to you.

Effective September 28, 2026

Information we process

BacktestDB may receive technical information ordinarily sent by your browser, such as IP address, device and browser type, referring pages, requested pages, and timestamps. When you use interactive tools, the site processes the inputs needed to produce the requested simulation. Do not enter personal, confidential, or account-identifying information into research tools.

Analytics, cookies, and local storage

We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate site usage and improve the service. Google may set or read cookies and process device and usage information under its own privacy terms. The site also uses cookies or browser storage to preserve features such as paper-trading identifiers, simulation caches, and game progress. You can clear or block these through your browser, although some features may stop working or lose saved state.

How information is used

  • Provide, secure, debug, and improve the site.
  • Generate requested research outputs and maintain feature state.
  • Measure aggregate traffic, reliability, and feature usage.
  • Prevent abuse and comply with legal obligations.

Service providers and disclosure

Infrastructure, analytics, and market-data providers may process limited information on our behalf or under their own terms. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate misuse, or support a business transfer. We do not represent that this site sells personal information.

Retention and security

Information is retained only as reasonably needed for the purposes above, subject to operational backups and legal requirements. No internet service or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

BacktestDB is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your choices and policy changes

You may restrict cookies, clear local browser data, or stop using the site. Privacy rights vary by location and may include access, deletion, or correction rights. We may update this policy as the service changes; the effective date above identifies the current version.
